1964 custom made by The Salon Moderne of Saks Fifth Avenue and designed by Sophie of Saks. Sophie (Gimbel) was known for her custom made Parisian Haute Couture creations and her society clientele. This dress was designed for Mrs. A. Firestone (Firestone Tire Co).
Strapless sheath gown fashioned of black cut velvet silk taffeta designed in the tradition Balenciaga. Also includes a matching wrap secured in place by shoulder straps. Bodice is boned. Condition: excellent Measurements: bust: to 34"; waist: 24"; hips: 34"; length: 43"  |
