A rare Philippe Venet flirtatious, colorful and extravagant gown fashioned of rich purple silk taffeta in a flora and fauna motif typical of the designer's signature in the 80's. Strapless fitted bodice extending into a short pouf skirt with an extending full dramatic second tier. Back features covered buttons and full bow.
Venet had a long apprenticeship in the fashion world with two of the most important designers of the day; Schiaparelli and Givenchy. Venet opened his own house in the 1960's and was known for designing exceptional and exciting eveningwear for a socialite clientele.
