Rare Alaia butterfly dress from the designer's 1992 collection, as seen and documented in the Alaia book by Francois Baudot. Artwork is by noted artist Thierry Perez, a frequent Alaia collaborator. This butterfly inspiration has often been attributed to Elsa Schiaparelli who was much admired by Alaia. This is a collector and museum piece and is also found in a number of permanent museum collections.
Dress fashioned of heavy black rayon viscose with butterfly artistry in blue, yellow and red. Halter style neckline mimicks that of a butterfly. Dress can also be worn with just the 2 shoulder straps. Size: XS condition: brand new; unworn.  |
