Early Fortuny velvet jacket in a rich champagane gold with gold stencilling throughout. Collarless T-shape style with open front closure. This is an earlier pattern printed with gold Renaissance arabesques. The curlicues resemble the rich carvings on the old state gandolas of Venice. In the new book "Fortuny" by Ann-Marie Deschodt a pic of a short jacket with an identical pattern is shown on page 85.

The jacket is in amazing condition with velvet in strong wearable condition. There are a few small stains which are not obvious. Lined in silk charmeuse. This piece does not have it's original Fortuny label but I do guaranty its authenticity. The pattern in the book; and also the identifying gold stencilled borders around the jacket shoulders, neckline and front closure authenticate the piece.

Provenance: prominent Fortuny collector.

Bust: to about 50": length: 26.5".
