Jacques Heim

French designer, Jacques Heim, was considered a fashion innovator in his day. Though many of his fashions were casual and sportswear inspired, he was an eclectic designer of many styles and in the 1950's his design inspirations derived from the fashions of Dior and Balenciaga. Heim's 'Actualite Diffusion' line was launched in 1950 and this dress is representative of that collection. This collection is now quite rare.

"New Look" style fashioned of a eggshell white taffeta with a black hand crochet geometric overlay. This perfectly conceived geometric crochet is rare on it's own and making it even rarer is its pristine condition. Sleeveless square neckline with 3 center beautifully handmade black grosgrain ribbon bows. Back zipper closure. Dress has an attached crinoline; full skirt with wide sweep. Additional crinolines not included.

Bust: to 34"; waist: 26"; length: 47". Bodice seam allowance of 2" on each side. Almost 2" hem allowance as well.

Condition: beautiful excellent; fresh and crisp; unnoticeable very light stain in skirt lining.
