Zandra Rhodes

Rare Zandra Rhodes Shell Collar coat as seen on the cover of 1973 British Vogue and documented in the Rhodes' book "The Art of Zandra Rhodes". Zandra Rhodes early coats were produced in very limited quantity and have always been rare to acquire. They are highly collectible and are part of some major museum permanent collections. Coat of black wool felt trimmed with white piping and white top-stitching. The top stitching on the mult-piece collar stiffens the felt and allows it to be draped into a strong sculptural form. Snaps on the collar allow it to be adjust into various shapes. The long full coat has a yoke in the front and back which supports a knife pleated skirt. The sleeves are long and wide.
