Description
Gianni Versace's Spring/Summer 1991 evening dress fashioned of multicolored printed silk twill with elaborate beadwork bodice. The design known as L'Artista acknowledged the designer's passion for modern art and the theatre. The abstract pattern references various modern art movements, featuring inscriptions 'pittora', 'artista', and 'arte' and encloses a central harlequin figure. Further detail of topstitching on strapless bodice for stiffening and beaded embroidery throughout midriff. Dress features one of Versace favorite creations the tight bodice with short bouffant skirt. Back zipper closure. Fully lined.
